Around 17:00 CET all Kik X Alpha and Beta Testers received a message from @KikTeam informing them that Kik X Beta will be closing and that Kik X will no longer be available anymore from the 27th of September.
Therefore it is now safe to assume that they won't be offering Kik X as a Kik alternative.
Around 22:25 CET, the same userbase (Kik X) received yet another message from @KikTeam informing them that Kik will be closing on October 19th.
We are expecting the message to be sent to the remaining Kik userbase gradually, or that it will reach various news sites soon.
We at the Ragebot Team would like to thank everyone for their support throughout the last 1½ year.
It has been an exciting journey and we are happy to have been able to help make Kik a better place.
We still have a little hope that Kik will be bought by another company, but it seems less and less likely that that will happen.
Regardless of what happens, remember that this is not the end.
We will continue to develop RageChat and we are excited about the journey ahead of us.
